A wedding day is full of beautiful, unscripted moments, and Leanne and Robert’s celebration at the historic Rothley Court was the perfect example. Their wedding, held on a classic British summer day—Saturday, 19th July 2025—was a heartfelt story of love, family, and the simple truth that after a little rain, the sun always shines brighter. As their wedding photographers, it was a privilege to capture every moment.
A Tale of Two Weathers: From Raindrops to Sunbeams at Rothley Court
The day began under the soft patter of rain against the windows of the stunning Rothley Court hotel wedding venue. Far from dampening spirits, the weather created an incredibly romantic and intimate atmosphere. It set a cosy, heartfelt scene for Leanne and Robert to exchange their vows, surrounded by the people they love most.
Just as they were pronounced husband and wife, the clouds began to part. The sun broke through, pouring golden light across the historic grounds of Rothley Court. It was a magical transition, almost as if nature itself was celebrating their union. This beautiful turn in the weather allowed us to capture a stunning mix of photographs, from dramatic, emotional shots in the morning to bright, sun-kissed portraits in the afternoon.
A Family Affair with Heartfelt Details
What truly made this day unforgettable was the focus on family and personal touches.
Leanne and Robert’s adorable children played a central role. Their daughter, Isla-Mae, was the perfect flower girl in her beautiful white dress, and their son, Carter, looked incredibly smart as a pageboy, matching the groomsmen in his suit. They brought so much joy and laughter to the day.
The couple’s thoughtfulness was woven into every part of their celebration. They truly thought of everything to make their guests feel special, including providing flip-flops for tired feet ready for dancing and personalised glow sticks to light up the evening. They even had custom beer mats made for the occasion! As their photographer, we were deeply touched to receive a personalised bag of goodies—an incredibly kind gesture that speaks volumes about this wonderful couple.
Capturing Candid Moments at a Historic Leicestershire Venue
Rothley Court is a dream location for wedding photography. Its timeless architecture and beautiful gardens provide a magnificent backdrop. We took full advantage of the changing light, capturing everything from the emotional ceremony inside the historic venue to candid, laughter-filled moments in the sunlit gardens. The blend of posed portraits and natural, in-the-moment shots tells the complete story of their day.
Leanne and Robert’s wedding was a powerful reminder that the best days aren’t always the ones with perfect weather but the days filled with perfect moments. It was a day of pure happiness, and we are so honoured to have been there to capture it.
