A wedding day at Winters Tale Country Barn is always special, but Craig and Faye’s celebration was a beautiful reminder that the most memorable days are often the ones with a few surprises. Their wedding, held on a blustery September day, was a heartwarming story of love, family, and the kind of joy that shines through any weather. As their photographers, it was an honour to capture every moment of their incredible day.

The Morning Preparations: Two Barns, Two Stories

The day began with a flurry of excitement and a very brisk wind. While Carl photographed the groom, Craig, his best man and brother, Lee, their fathers, Alan and Allen, and their adorable son, Louie, in the rustic Ember Eve Barn, Monima was with Faye and her four beautiful bridesmaids – their daughters, Isabel, Courtney, Ava, and Darcy – in the charming Harvest Moon Barn. The atmosphere was filled with love and laughter as Faye’s best friend, a talented MUA, prepared everyone for the day ahead.

When the Weather Has Other Plans

The ceremony and reception were held in the magnificent timber-framed barn, a stunning space that feels both grand and intimate. The weather, true to its unpredictable nature, brought a sudden downpour just after the ceremony. But in a seamless transition, guests moved into the elegant marquee for live music and drinks, allowing the barn to be transformed for the wedding breakfast. It was a perfect example of how Winters Tale Country Barn can adapt to any situation, ensuring the celebrations continue without a hitch.

Speeches That Touched Our Hearts

What truly stood out during the reception were the speeches. We have witnessed many heartfelt words over the years, but some of the speeches on this day were truly unforgettable. The father of the bride, Alan, brought a tear to our eyes with his touching tribute to his daughter. And the best man, Lee, had everyone in stitches with his hilarious speech about his brother when growing up together.

It's moments like these that remind us why we love what we do.

Golden Hour Magic at the 17th Century Farmhouse

Just as the day was drawing to a close, the rain cleared, and the sun broke through the clouds for a magical hour before sunset. Despite the blustery conditions, we seized the opportunity to capture some breathtaking shots. We used a drone to get a magnificent group photograph in front of the 17th-century farmhouse, a unique perspective that truly showcases the beauty of the venue. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the Buckinghamshire countryside, we photographed Craig and Faye on the entrance to the venue and on the balcony of the Ember Eve Barn. These sunset portraits, with the wind catching Faye’s veil, are some of our absolute favourites.

A Day to Remember

Craig and Faye’s wedding was a day filled with so much love and laughter. It was a celebration of family, of two people deeply in love, and of the beauty that can be found in every moment, rain or shine. We are so grateful to have been a part of their special day.
