An Epic weekend as SimplyGreatShots photograph Dubbed Out Festival 2024.
As the summer sun set on the Royal Cheshire Showground, the buzz of excitement in the air signalled the arrival of Dubbed Out Festival 2024.
A four-day festival extravaganza event running from Thursday 25th through to Sunday 28th July which draws in over 3,000 campervans and motorhomes.
The event kicked off on Thursday with a relaxed, chilled vibe, allowing VW Enthusiasts and festival goers to settle in and get ready for the awesome weekend and headliners that were about to come their way!!
Friday night transformed the festival with electrifying energy as the main stage came alive. Tribute bands belted out beloved hits from icons like:
- Robbie Williams - Dan Budd
- ABBA - ABBA Re-Bjorn
- Fleetwood Mac - Fleetwood Shack
- Kings of Leon - The Four Kicks
Saturday was larger and louder. Gates were opened for day visitors, the main stand was packed and the headline bands including:
- Toploader
- East 17
- Kelly Lorena (N-Trance)
- K-Klass
These are just a few of the acts, and they did not disappoint. Belting out their classic tracks to an adoring crowd who were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
The festival wasn’t just for adults; the kids’ area was a hub of laughter and joy. There were bouncy castles and magicians mesmerising young audiences with their tricks. Bright lights from the Fair rides were glowing up the grounds and the festival’s magic was well and truly alive, bringing back memories of the simple joys of childhood.
Beyond the music and fair, the event showcased over 100 traders, from food, coffee, things for your pooch, to traders passionate about all things VW and campervan-related.

The marketplace was a treasure trove filled with vintage parts, custom accessories, unique memorabilia and essentials that enhance the campervan lifestyle.
Throughout the weekend, I connected with likeminded VW enthusiasts, exchanged stories of adventures and road trips and how they came to own their own little home on wheels.
For me, being invited to be a photographer for this event was an honor, a chance to immerse myself in the heart and soul of this fantastic VW festival. I had the opportunity to meet the traders and the owners of some of the fantastic campervans that would ultimately be entered into the Show and Shine on the Sunday.
Each photograph I took was a piece of the festival’s story, a representation of the joy and warmth that the VW community embodies.
As the event came to a close, I couldn’t help but smile, knowing I had captured not just images but the very essence of a community brought together by love for the open road and the thrill of adventure, and just having a great time!
Dubbed Out Festival 2024 will forever hold a special place in my heart, a vibrant reminder of the magic that happens when people unite in celebration.
Until next year, when we gather again under the VW banner, I’ll cherish the memories and the incredible stories shared at this unforgettable festival.
Several months after the Dubbed Out Festival VWT Magazine published a five page feature on the festival and the pages of this magazine were adorned with many of my images, which bought yet another smile to my face.
