THE GUILD OF PHOTOGRAPHERS 2020 AWARDS.
The Guild of Photographers Annual Awards Ceremony took place earlier this year on Saturday 6th Feb.
This is usually a Black Tie event held at Crewe Hall in Cheshire, however due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year was going to be different affair, and was held online and broadcast via Facebook live.
If you have read our previous blog titled ‘Nomination for Image of the Year!’ you will be aware that Carl was named as a Finalist in the ‘Events, Sport & Action’ Category.
As this was our first year in the Guild, we didn’t know what to expect but the event ran smoothly thanks to the hard work of everyone at the Guild.

The images on display were (as you would expect) of an unbelievable standard, and we would just like to pass on our congratulations to all Winners and Runner-ups of the various categories.
Eventually it came to the ‘Event, Sports & Action’ Category which Carl was nominated in. As with all other categories, all images are shown first and then the Runner-Up and Winners announced, and against all expectations, Carl’s image finished as Runner-Up!
To say Carl was completely blown away was an understatement. To even make it as a finalist in a competition with such amazingly talented Photographers is an honour in itself, but to finish Runner-Up after only joining the Guild part way through 2020 was an awesome and totally unexpected achievement.
"It really has been a great 1st year for me with the Guild." Carl commented.
Al the time of writing this The Image of the Month competition for 2021 is already underway and it will be interesting to see what talented Photographers can produce during Lockdown.
With vaccinations currently underway (approaching 24m as we write this) hopefully life will slowly return to something resembling normality sometime soon, as we cannot wait to get back out there!
