The Ceremony: Charm Meets Sophistication

Your wedding day begins in the Thatch Barn, a lovingly restored 16th-century space filled with original oak beams, warm Cotswold stone, and a stunning open fireplace. Licensed for civil ceremonies, it brings an unmistakable sense of occasion to your vows.

Alternatively, for an al fresco experience, the Arbour offers a beautiful outdoor ceremony space surrounded by manicured gardens and peaceful countryside views. With the Cotswold breeze and birdsong as your backdrop, it’s an idyllic place to begin your married life.

Celebrate in Style: The Orchard Barn

After the ceremony, celebrations continue in the striking Orchard Barn, a purpose-built reception space designed to blend contemporary luxury with rural character. Its high ceilings, full-height windows, and copper detailing create a welcoming and stylish atmosphere.

Here, you and your guests can enjoy a wedding breakfast tailored to your tastes, followed by dancing and late-night celebrations. The in-house bar, mezzanine snug, and heated floors ensure comfort and enjoyment all year round.

Blackwell Grange - The history of the Wedding Venue

Blackwell Grange, located in the tranquil village of Blackwell near Shipston-on-Stour in Warwickshire, is a historic country estate whose origins trace back to the early 17th century.

The main house is the centrepiece of the estate. It was constructed in the early 1600s and has earned a Grade II listed status in recognition of its architectural and historical significance. This distinguished residence is built from squared, coursed limestone, a hallmark of regional craftsmanship from that era, and is adorned with traditional architectural features, including mullioned windows, hood moulds, and intricately carved label stops.

Inside, the house retains many original period elements, such as impressive stone fireplaces, chamfered timber beams, and floors paved with substantial stone flags, all of which contribute to its enduring historic character.

The architectural integrity of Blackwell Grange has been carefully preserved whilst allowing for sensitive restoration where needed.

In 2016, Blackwell Grange entered a new chapter in its long history when it was thoughtfully renovated and reopened as an exclusive-use wedding and events venue. At the heart of this transformation is the Thatch Barn, a beautifully restored 16th-century structure that provides an enchanting setting for civil ceremonies.

Complementing this is the Orchard Barn, a striking modern addition designed for receptions and celebrations, combining rustic charm with contemporary design. Today, the estate offers a seamless blend of heritage and modern luxury, featuring manicured gardens, elegant accommodation options, and tailored event services. This careful balance of old and new makes Blackwell Grange a uniquely atmospheric destination for memorable wedding occasions.
