Beaumanor Hall is a historic Victorian country house nestled in the charming village of Woodhouse, near Loughborough, Leicestershire.

Built between 1842 and 1854 for the affluent Herrick family, the grand mansion was designed by William Railton, the architect also known for Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square. With its striking architecture and elegant interiors, Beaumanor Hall offers a timeless setting, now beautifully preserved as a unique wedding venue in Leicestershire.

During World War II, Beaumanor Hall played a crucial yet secret role in British intelligence. It became one of the UK’s top-secret Y-Stations, intercepting enemy communications that were then decrypted at Bletchley Park. Hidden in plain sight, the estate’s stable blocks and outbuildings were cleverly disguised as everyday offices to conceal their true purpose. The site contributed significantly to the Allied war effort and remains an important part of Britain’s wartime heritage.

After the war, the hall was used by the military until 1974, when it was acquired by Leicestershire County Council. Since then, Beaumanor Hall has served the public as an educational and events centre, set within 34 acres of tranquil parkland and formal gardens.

Today, Beaumanor Hall is a sought-after wedding venue in Leicestershire, known for its rich history, picturesque setting, and elegant reception rooms. Whether you're planning a civil ceremony, wedding breakfast, or full-day celebration, this historic venue provides a romantic and memorable backdrop for your special day.
